About 6 years ago we decided to acquire a Maine Coon kitten.
The best way to do this was to meet breeders at a Cat Fancier’s Assoc. show.

I am writing this testimonial to let everyone know what a great experience my family and I have had at Maine Lvrs cattery. Back In February of 2012', I started searching online for breeders of Maine Coons. To my amazement I found a breeder only ten minutes from my home, that breeder was Michelle of Maine Lvrs Cattery. As a two-time customer of Michelle’s Maine Coons, one a silver tabby named Zeus, the other, a red tabby named Samson with European ancestry, (both young gentlemen of great size and proportion), Michelle’s kittens have been a blessed addition to our family. Our Samson will rub heads with our dog or try to play with her. Every time we see Michelle she welcomes us to her cattery, sharing her new kittens, any news, important information, or new awards from showing her maine coons.
Her home is really clean, organized, and interesting to view the new cats or kittens with a wide variety of colors and patterns. I always love hearing her stories, watching the kittens play, as well as holding them, and seeing her professional adult cat pictures.
During both of our purchasing experiences, my husband, grandson, and I were sent pictures after our kittens were first born. We were lucky to be able to request the color preferences we wanted, and she was able to met our expectations! We were then able to visit and hold them and others from their litter. After waiting several weeks, at pick up time, Michelle bathed our new addition and cut each kitten’s nails so they would be ready for us to take home. She had all of the paperwork ready in a nice cat folder with papers, contracts, information, and shot records so it was easy for us to be organized for our records and the veterinarian. We also share emails with really cool videos, or funny animal jokes; if we have any questions or concerns that we need answered she is also just a phone call or email away.
Both of our maine coons have a very interesting but different personalities. They are very human like for animals, and also very spoiled. My “Jumping Jack Flash” or commonly called Zeus is silver and white, and long in the torso. He jumps very high from table to cabinets, or sits on your back like a fur coat so that he can get a better view of his surroundings and be in control. He is the King of his castle also! He is truly a lap cat, and joins us when we sit or sleep. Our red maine coon, Samson just had his 2nd birthday. He is the size of a small lion cub or larger and is very stocky with a lot of really thick fur. My maine coons are very time conscious, and seem to know their owners’ schedule, as well as their own personal food times to eat. Both of our maine coons from Maine Lvrs cattery are truly gentle giants, loving, and wonderful pets to have.

I want to thank Michelle Chaffee for all her help and guidance in finding 2 wonderful additions to our family! I contacted Michelle as we were grieving over the loss of our beloved maine coon mix, Mingo. Everything we loved about Mingo was part of the Maine Coon standard, so as we started talking about another cat we decided to do a full bred Maine Coon. Michelle responded to my email immediately and was so helpful. She was patient answering question after question. I had always had a rescue cat and never a kitten. Michelle was wonderful! We put in a deposit, and Michelle then, after having several conversations with me, offered Calypso who she was retiring. We jumped at the opportunity. In August we brought Calypso (Cali) and Skadi ( a 4 month old kitten) home. They are a delight! I call them my ladies in waiting as they follow me everywhere and wait on me. Cali is full of chirps and chatters talking to me throughout the day and Skadi lets you know it is fancy feast time in the morning, as well as having the loudest purr of any cat I have ever known.

I have been a maine coon cat lover since I was a little girl. I just think that they are the most beautiful and wonderful of all the cat breeds. When I decided to adopt a kitten I wanted the healthiest and most perfect coonie I could. I searched through the Internet for at least a year viewing every breeder site in the country. I looked through cat magazines and spoke to several breeders. Time after time I kept coming back to Maine Lovers and Maine Delite. I have purchased two kittens from Michele and Mickey and couldn't be happier.
The kittens are AMAZING. They are healthy, healthy, healthy!! Even my vet comments on how healthy and adorable they are. They have the most beautiful coats and personalities. The kittens are so well socialized that introducing them into a new family is very easy. Michele and Mickey have the highest of standards and produce kittens that really do epitomize the maine coon breed. I have been impressed with their ethical breeding standards and how their cats are truly spoiled members of their families. In addition, I have to say that their homes are immaculate.
With regards to my "boys", I couldn't be more thrilled. Samson is a large red tabby who presents himself with such majestic authority that the dogs even make room for him! I want to first thank you for entrusting to my care Cody, one of your Maine Coon kittens. He is sheer joy and has brought sunshine back to my life. I have nothing but positive things to say about how dedicated you are to your breed and to maintaining a healthy line of maine Coons who adhere to the standard for Maine Coons. My kitten came to me so well socialized that there was a very short period of adjustment. There was more of an adjustment for me than for Cody. I have been a dog person for 39 years, specifically Newfoundland dogs and have dealt with many reputable breeders over the years. I have found the same experience with Michelle. Her utmost concern is the health and well being of her cats and kittens and to ensure there well being for their entire lives. She is very professional and is always available to answer questions and give suggestions. Upon entering her home you would never know that her home is a cattery other than the fact that there is more cat furniture than people furniture! Her cats and kittens have a wonderful place to live. I waited until our kitten had been with us for a few months before writing my Rave testimonial. I wanted to get to know her and visa versa. Pumpkin has (as expected) become a member of our family and not just simply a beautiful pet. More and more of her personality comes out everyday - she is humorous and loving down to her core. If you are considering buying a beautiful Maine Coon kitten then Michelle at Maine Lvrs is the place and person to buy it from. I could tell from the very first conversation I had with Michelle that she was a perfectionist in what she does. I have a similar personality and I know a perfectionist will do things right! When buying a life companion you want someone that excels in what they do and they have a passion for the breed and producing wonderful kittens. The day we picked up Josie Michelle’s house was spotless and there were no odors or chaos. I could tell that she truly cared for her cats and she made sure that we were a good match for our kitten. I bought my first Maine Coon in July of 2014. I was really drawn to the look of the blue cats so that was my first color choice. I also wanted a male because of their larger size. I was able to get Flynn (named after Flynn Rider in the movie Tangled), a blue and white male. He is so sweet, affectionate and smart! I was able to teach him to sit up, lay down and give me five on command. He talks to me all the time, follows me from room to room and sleeps on my pillow above my head at night. At some point in the middle of the night he usually wakes me up because he wants to cuddle for a while.
When I first went to Michelle’s to see her cats and talk about buying one, I was very impressed at how neat and clean her house is. You would never know she has multiple cats living there. She spent about 2 hours with me telling me about the breed and showing me around…introducing me to all of her gorgeous cats and talking about each one of them. They were all so friendly. I am also very impressed with her website. She has so much information about each cat and who the parents are and a lot of pictures. I was able to look up Flynn’s parents and grandparents.
The day I went to pick up Flynn, she had a folder ready for me with instructions on how to care for him, records of his shots and the contract along with a bag of toys and some food. After spending about an hour going over the contract and telling me how to care for him, I spent about another hour playing with him and his litter mates. All the kittens were so adorable, friendly and playful!
Flynn has such a great personality. He’s not shy around strangers. He’s gone up to anybody that has come over and played with them. I’m planning on getting a second Maine Coon in the future and will definitely go back to Michelle.

Three weeks ago my husband and I lost our beloved ginger Maine Coon. He battled diabetes, an enlarged heart and a heart murmur for a number of years. At 14 years old, it was time for us to say good bye. We were heart sick, sad and missing our special boy within minutes of saying good bye to our baby.
My husband and I have always loved Maine Coons. This was my second one and for my husband, it was technically his third. His mother has 2 boys.
He suggested a kitten which I wasn't to sure about. I like rescuing them when they are about 2 or 3 and possibly much calmer at that age. I called many breeders and had saved a few business cards from breeders from past CFA cat shows we had attended. The only one to call my back was Michelle from Maine Lvrs.
Mystical, sixth sense, intuition, higher power, etc. does not even begin to explain Michelle's ability to match you with the perfect baby to add to your home. I repeated the above story to her and she asked me if I would be interested in a 2 year old male she was going to retire from breeding. She directed us to her website and told me to take a look at Kyle. It was love at first look!
We set up at time to meet and met her at her home "cattery". Oh my gosh! You would never be able to tell there were cats there! Her home is immaculate, I immediately sat down on the floor to play with the girls and fell in love with them, as did my husband. She introduced us to everyone and explained her breeding process, how she breeds healthy Maine Coons and her strict standards etc.
She then introduced us to our Kyle. He instantly melted my heart. He is the sweetest boy! He is cuddly, funny, sensitive, curious and a big mush ball! Last night he slept by cuddling on my arm all night. He even holds hands or paws as it were!
Michelle has done an excellent job of matching us to our perfect boy. She just knows what cat will fit into your family for personality. It is truly a gift she possess. We absolutely adore our boy! We are also completely impressed with the entire process and level of professionalism she employs with much love with her cats and kittens. This is the only breeder we will ever go to and recommend. There should be stories done about her and her cats. Truly amazing!
As an added bonus, she even sent our Kyle home with a goodie bag and toys for his new home! Once you take your baby home, she is still interested in how they adjust and their well being. The interaction does not end when you leave with your baby. I am bombarding her every day with pics of Kyle and she loves it! It truly was pure magic. Please, experience it for yourself.

The experience of getting a Maine Coon from Michelle’s cattery was exceptional. We found out about Maine Lvrs by doing some online research, we were impressed with how her website was displayed so we contacted her about getting a kitten. Michelle knows what she is talking about! She knows everything about the breed and she explained everything we would ever need to know! We felt confidant in getting a kitten from her because she takes all the steps to maintain healthy and beautiful Maine Coons. When we went to pick up Casanova, a brown mackerel male, this summer we were so impressed by her house and how she takes care of all her cats and kittens. Her house was clean and you could tell she takes great pride in breeding Maine Coons. Michelle is a reputable breeder and I would highly recommend Michelle if you are looking to add a new kitten to your home, we know we will definitely contact her again when we want another one!!! Casanova fit right in with our other Maine Coon Topaz a silver shaded mackerel, and he is very healthy and is doing very well! He is a joy to have in our family!

I did extensive research on good breeders when I decided to get a Maine Coon kitten.
Michelle came highly recommended. I talked with her extensively and sent her my deposit for a kitten that was to be born in December or January. I asked for a Cream and White male as these have always been my favorites.
Michelle called me early and let me know she had a Cream and White Male available for October. My daughter and I went to visit and found Michelle very knowledgeable and a very caring person when it came to her cats and their kittens.
We viewed Maximus and fell in love with him. He was a little reserved and a momma’s boy, but I drove over two hours home and was excited preparing my home for a new kitten.
I picked Maximus up in October and Michelle spend a lot of time going over everything about the care and growth of Maine Coons.

Going through Michelle was the first time we went through a breeder and we must say it was the best decision we ever made. During our initial phone conversation I sensed how passionate she was to the process and how dear her extended family was to her. Thanksgiving of last year I decided that my daughter and I were ready to bring another cat into our family (we already have a rescued adult male) and thought long and hard about where to seek out the next member of our pet family. While I have always rescued abandoned dogs and cats, I have been a longtime admirer of the Maine Coon breed and decided to research working with a breeder as part of the process. Further, the last time that I adopted a kitten from a "rescue" group, the conditions of the house where the cats were living was filthy and the kitten I brought home was sadly in very poor health and we lost her to a fatal illness less than three months after bringing her home. Not only could I not face that tragic loss again, I didn't want my child to lose a beloved pet in the same way.
As a resident of Northeast Ohio, I discovered that I am fortunate to be in close proximity to a wonderful breeder (Maine Lvrs Cattery) and had a nice long phone conversation with Michelle over Thanksgiving weekend. We discussed the kittens that she had available and after I talked about how I really envisioned that my next cat would be a red male, she encouraged me to wait as she suspected that one of her adult females may give birth to a red male (given her and the sire's coloring). As if it were meant to be, I received an email from Michelle (by happenstance, on my birthday) that a baby red mackerel was born two weeks earlier. I decided to reserve him and waited eagerly for the 12 week mark when we could bring him home. In the meantime, I received regular email updates and photos as to his progress and personality. My daughter and I always looked forward to the regular updates and I had a great time getting the house ready for him. In April we went to pick up our kitten (Jackson) and I was so impressed with the cattery (her home) in terms of the overall cleanliness, the layout that was designed to meet the various cats' needs and well-being and the seriousness with which Michelle clearly brings to her work as a breeder. Additionally, we were provided with complete information as to how to care for our new kitten and recommendations on introducing our kitten to our adult cat.
Now at home with us, Jackson has been a total joy! He is loving, playful and has already developed a wonderful relationship with our adult cat. Jackson is sweet, smart and very affectionate. As I type this, he is laying next to me with his little face tucked under his arm and my adult cat sits nearby on the couch, napping soundly. It is clear that Jackson has known nothing but love from people since he was born and that all of his needs have always been met. We are so pleased to have him as a part of our family and we couldn't be happier!

I can't say enough great things about Michelle as a breeder, and a person. Our Maine Coon Snickers of 17yrs was at the end of his life, it was absolutely heart breaking for my son Jake, and myself. I started searching breeders knowing that I definitely wanted another Maine Coon. I found Michelle's website, and was very impressed not just by the sweetness of her cats faces, but the great detail she had put into her website explaining everything. I noticed a lot of other breeders websites did not have as much detail, and the pictures of their cats didn't compare to Michelle's. As I said there is something so sweet in all of her cats faces.
I called Michelle, and told her about our situation she was so kind, and compassionate , and gave me great advice. She even offered to talk to my son Jake. A couple weeks later our cat had passed away. A few months later we took home the kitten of our dreams Amarii. Besides being absolutely adorable his personality was what we were hoping, and praying for. He is so loving! He loves to snuggle, and plays non-stop. I firmly believe this is because of the environment Michelle provides for her cats/kittens. When I went to pick up our kitten up once again Michelle impressed me. She took her time, and went over everything with me from the basics as to what brush she recommend to vaccination's, and, do's and dont's etc. etc. Then she presented me with a folder with everything I needed to know. Michelle really sets the bar high for other breeders, and I truly can't thank her enough for the great experience during such a rough time.

We lost our beloved family cat Arney, a one of a kind gray tabby, in July of 2015. Around the beginning of September we realized we couldn't live without a cat. That lead to our decision to find a new friend. Many years ago I had encountered a Maine Coon. I loved his look and the size blew me away. I've wanted one since that day. We started to research their personalities and mannerisms and I realized how much Arney acted like a Maine Coon. We were hooked.
I called 4 other breeders before I reached out to Michelle. They were all very nice and knowledgeable with beautiful kittens. However Michelle asked the questions I would ask if I were a breeder. I explained how Arney was an inside/outside cat. She immediately asked if my intentions were to keep this kitten inside. I assured here we learned from past mistakes and would definitely be keeping him inside. She made sure I was aware the new kitten would need additional immunizations after we brought him home. Michelle asked if we had other animals in the house and would they be kind to a new kitten. She wanted to know if our children could handle the kitten properly. All of her questions were directed toward the well-being of the kitten. I felt she really does what is best for the kittens.
When the day finally came to pick up our new kitten we were all excited. Michelle was well organized and knowledgeable. She had a very good plan for bringing a kitten home. We followed her plan and it all went perfectly. She told us to contact her with any behavioral issues. Michelle's plan worked so well we haven't had behavioral issues.
Walter is a big beautiful boy. We have had him for almost five months. He loves our whole family, even our dog. It truly feels like he has always been here. And that leads us to today. We are so happy with our kitten and Michelle we are on her reservation list for a playmate for Walter.
Her house was very clean. You would never know she has any cats. Not to mention multiple cats.

Having grown up with a larger cat, I had been interested in the size and look of Maine Coons for many years. My boyfriend and I wanted to get a companion for our 3 year old orange cat Frank in the summer of 2015, and while we have always taken in rescue cats, I was committed to finally owning one of these rugged beauties. I found Michelle of Maine Lvrs cattery via internet searches for registered Maine Coon breeders in Ohio, as we were naturally wary of encountering any "kitten mill" situations.
However, Michelle of Maine Lvrs Cattery could not be farther from that. She was prompt and helpful with inquiries about her cats and practices, and was more than eager to have us visit her home and inspect the cattery. After requesting a silver male, she sent us pictures and updates on our possible kitten as he grew and set up personal visits to see him and his parents. It is clear from all interactions that she is passionate about her cats as family and treasured pets. Our first visit we met her females which have the run of an immaculately clean house. All were healthy and calm, and we were shown the litter that contained our perspective kitten. The kittens and mothers are kept in large enclosed rooms, not cages, with plenty of space to grow and play and still be safe. It was love at first sight with a dear little silver and white male. When he stuck his paw out to us, we could not wait to take him home. Michelle keeps her kittens until they are fully equipped and healthy to leave their families, and we received multiple vet testaments and documents to our kitten's health and vaccinations from her. She is clearly knowledgeable about all aspects of the Maine Coon breed and takes every precaution and test to ensure her cats remain healthy and free of any genetic problems. She provides everything you need to welcome your new cat home, complete with food, toys to help you get to know each other and a comprehensive packet of information and instructions on Maine Coon care and behavior. New parents coming home from the hospital aren't as well prepared!
Our silver Maine Coon Loki is 1 year old this month, and we could not be happier with him. He is just the sweetest boy, following us around the house with a his huge plumed tail and chattering in his big Coon voice. He goes completely limp when picked up, is always eager to be stroked, and purrs just from being looked at. And look we do! He is a strikingly gorgeous cat, so healthy and vibrant. He is very true to the Maine Coon type with a handsome square jaw, and is already incredibly long and lush with the softest coat. He is best friends with his older brother Frank, playing all day and cuddling together. They could not be a better pair of spoiled fur-children.
Loki is a wonderful addition to our cat family, and every day I am more of a fanatic about our Maine Coon's sweet nature and generous looks. Michelle clearly makes it a priority to produce cats that are not just beautiful to show, but also a joy to care for and love. Now that we have gotten a taste of Maine Lvrs Maine Coons and the feline companions Michelle raises with such commitment, I cannot wait to add more of these regal giants to our home. In March, 2016, my husband and I lost our beloved 13 year old blue Maine Coon, Misty, to cancer. We were heartbroken beyond words. Our 5 year old silver Maine Coon, Chiara, was very sad over the loss of her companion. Even though it was difficult to think about, we knew we wanted to find a kitten/companion for Chiara. So I began the process of searching for a kitten.
I contacted and spoke with several breeders. When I emailed Michelle, she asked that we have a phone conversation. First of all, you take off your shoes and wash your hands! (Michelle has a healthcare medical background which is awesome). She showed us through her immaculate home and we got to meet all of her gorgeous girls! Then the exciting time came to meet our new baby! Our little brown mackerel girl was even more adorable than her pictures. Michelle let us take as much time as we wanted to play with our new baby. We also enjoyed seeing all thirteen kittens (two litters) romping and playing with each other. It was obvious that the kittens were all very sweet and very socialized. Michelle spends a lot of time (hands on) with each kitten daily to prepare them for their new homes!
When it came time to pick up our baby we were so excited. Michelle had everything so well organized. We had an appointed pick up time. She prepared a packet/goody bag with information, food sample, shot records and toys! She answered any questions and let us know that she is available anytime for questions or concerns. Then, making sure that we had an appropriate carrier for the new baby, it was time for Michelle to send her kitten off to her new forever home!
Our baby, named Moca, is almost 4 months old now and she is the most adorable, sweet, ornery, smart and gorgeous kitten! We attribute this to Michelle, who is so conscientious, caring and dedicated to her work of breeding and raising the most wonderful Maine Coon kittens ever! We received our second kitten from Michelle of Maine Lvrs Cattery. I couldn't have asked for a smoother process. We got our first Maine Coon from Michelle and we were so impressed with her knowledge and care for her cats that when we were ready for another there was no question, we were getting him from Michelle. Our first kitten, Walt, was about 7 months old when we decided he needed a playmate. We contacted Michelle and let her know we were ready for another kitten. She informed us there would be some litters born this summer and we could get on the deposit waiting list for another male. When she knew there would be one available she emailed us about him and we agreed he would be our next Maine Coon and a great fit. We were already aware of Michelle's process for bringing home Mojito, the new member of our family, but we didn't know how to introduce him to our current kitten. My husband and I have talked for years about one day getting a Maine Coon once our older cat, Stella, passed away. However, that day came sooner than we had anticipated. Stella was a beautiful black white domestic long-hair. We always thought she had Maine Coon in her since all of the traits we had read about them she possessed. In March of 2016, two weeks after being diagnosed by her vet Stella had to be put down due to an invasive tumor in her mouth. I didn't think I would begin looking for a kitten so soon after she passed, but she left a huge void in our hearts. I contacted Michelle shortly after and discovered that our soon-to-be kitten's litter was born the day after Stella passed.
I began a correspondence with Michelle starting with determining which kitten would be our best fit. At first, we thought we wanted a male silver tabby, but after finding out that there was a single solid black female kitten I couldn't resist. We got to meet her early in May and it was love at first sight. Michelle really keeps her cats and kittens in a great home. Walking in there you wouldn't have guessed that there were multiple cats. It was a clean and calm environment and I felt very confident that our kitten was coming from a great home. We got to meet her mom, Silk, who is quite the looker (though all Michelle's cats were). We got to see our kitten play with her siblings. We knew she would fit in our home with a dachshund and a short-haired cat, who needed a new sibling to keep them in line, and our girl fit the bill.
Several excruciatingly long weeks went by before we could get her in the middle June. We decided to name her Queenie, as we knew she was going to be royalty in our home. The day we picked her up Michelle walked us through everything we needed to know. Michelle knows what's she doing and has an obvious love for the breed and sharing that anyone who wishes to have their lives brightened by adding a Maine Coon in it.
We've only had Queenie for a few days, but she's already the Queen of our hearts.

We lost our beloved Maine Coon, Leopold, at age 16 several months ago. We knew that we wanted another Maine Coon so we began searching for a breeder. I looked at several websites and Michelle's was clearly the most impressive. She was one of the very few who kept her site updated! The photos of her cats and kittens were so beautiful and then I read the numerous testimonials and decided to contact her.
